White – The Top

Only two more weeks of color theme left. This week is white. I cleaned out my closet this past week and cleaned out a huge bag of clothing including four white shirts I’ve only worn once. I love the look of crisp white shirts… on other people. I don’t know if it’s my fair skin and hair but I look uncomfortable in white shirts and of course more pale (if that’s even possible).

My goal for today was to find a comfy white shirt and I think I did just that at plus size clothing mecca Lane Bryant. My first thought was to stay away from crisp. Crisp always seems to bind or ride up. I actually saved the tee shirt section until last because I wanted to avoid going to a tee but nothing jumped out at me until the tees. As you know layered is in but layered on a plus size body isn’t necessarily flattering. Lane Bryant has these fall layer-look tees and they have white in them. A little anyway. They’ve also combined it with another hot trend for tees, foil prints.

This layered shirt rocks. The thermal underwear paired with the silkscreen tee. Click on image to see print “Tranquil Beauty”. I couldn’t decide on one tee today and included this Baby Phat tee. I love dragons and this one really helps to break up the starkness of this otherwise white tee. And since layering is in I’d pair it with a hoodie slightly zipped so the dragon can peek out. Because this shirt is so form fitting and has no sleeves to be bulky it will be great for layering
