Bag Lady Wanna Be
I’ve been pining over a cognac Matt and Nat handbag for over a year so I thought I’d go take a look a gander at it. Guess what? My bag is no longer available! They have a whole new line. That goes to show what I get for waiting. I did find two bags that I may covet for a few more months though. What do you think?
First up is Fifty-Five Japanese paper is a lovely magenta vegan leather handbag. It also comes in grey, coffee (awesome), and black. It is 15.25″ x 16″ x 5.75″ in size and comes with lots of pockets and a detachable shoulder strap. It is $220 Canadian.
Next up is the Kravitz Streamline which is also vegan leather. This overnight bag comes in plum, black, grey and the brown (shown). It is 17.75″ x 14.5″ x 6″. This multi-compartment bag is $285 Canadian.

The Hippy Look
Sometimes I think there are really no new fashions, that every thing will all come back again in this continuing cycle only maybe with a twist or some added flare. 
When I came across this out fit at online plus size clothing store Silhouettes I had a flashback to my jumper days, which weren’t very long ago, thank you very much. But I loved them and after seeing this outfit, it appears I still do. Simple and understated.
This plus size A-Line Knit Jumper comes in sizes XL - 3X for $49.00. The boots and the long sleeve red tunic… extra but they actually complete the look and are a total necessity.

Plus Size Summer Dress Sale
I got a notice that Igigi was having their summer sale on dresses to make room for fall designs (ah!) so I headed over there to see what I could find in their up to 60% off clearance section.
I was surprised I didn’t find a bigger selection of sale items but I did fall in love with this Tailored Portrait Collar Dress in Gray. It comes in sizes 14 - 30 but some sizes are almost sold out. The dress was regularly $145 and is on for $90. It’d look fabulous with a pair of bright red shoes (I’m still pining for a pair of Carlos Santana’s). It also comes in navy.
Go have a look, you may find something you like on sale.

Pattern that Works
Being a strong visual person I’m easily attracted to patterns. But lets face it, some patterns just don’t work. Even on skinny people.
It was love at first sight with this top at Lane Bryant. It’s a crinkle satin material with bold irregular patterns on a black backdrop. It comes in sizes 14/16 - 26/28 for $39.50. I love the mixture of teal, silver, black and white. It works both closed or partly open with a cami. Denim or dress pants.
Now not every patterned top at Lane Bryant is a winner. Like these two that don’t work and wouldn’t work, no matter what size you were.

The Cargo Bermuda Short
Today I ventured into Torrid’s short section. I was surprised to see so many this late in the season. And if you are looking for short, shorts they are definitely there, quite a few actually. But as I said yesterday, you won’t find them on this blog.
I quite like this pair but not with the espadrilles. These are definitely clunky sandal, or hiking boot shorts (or barefoot even). This Z. Cavaricci Black Cargo Bermuda Short has five pockets (what good cargo doesn’t) and are machine washable. They come in sizes 12 and 14– what’s with that? — for $44.
If you’d rather go light there is a Z. Cavaricci Khaki Cargo Bermuda Short. Also machine washable but also lighter on the pocket situation. These one’s are available in sizes 12 - 24 for $44.

Who Wears Short Shorts
Do you remember that Nair commercial? It’s the theme for this week’s fave products. Shorts! Although you will not find short, shorts here. Sorry, I haven’t worn them since I was forced to wear them in highschool… the gym uniform. Seriously, they looked like panties. I think I still have them boxed away somewhere.
Today’s short is from Lane Bryant. The Flap pocket plaid Bermuda short has an interesting pattern that is interrupted by the cuffs and pocket flaps and the dark lines are directed up and down. These long shorts come in sizes 16 - 22 for $44.50.
These beauties are casual enough for errands or a pool party yet dressy enough if paired with the right top and shoes for the semi-casual work place.
