The Perfect Skirt
I love skirts. Some like their minis, some like their mid length but I like them long. But not all skirts are created equal. Unfortunately many clothing makers don’t put much thought into the design. Far too many skirts I’ve seen just hang there looking unflattering on the plus size body. 
Plus size clothing designer, Ashley Stewart has what they call the Perfect Skirt. I have to agree. It is made of a fabric combination of Polyester, Rayon, and Spandex which not only makes it comfortable but functional and lovely. This Perfect Skirt is also machine washable which is a blessing for any career woman. Who has the extra time to run to the dry cleaner; then pick it up!
The main detail I love about this skirt is that it hugs the important curves but helps balance the upper body with the lower body by having the flare bottom. The Perfect Skirt comes in black (desired), grey and beige but for some reason you have to search for “perfect skirt” to see all three colors on the website (I’ve linked to all three below for your convenience). The skirt is available in sizes 12 -24 for a very affordable $29.

Rosie Bra
It’s so pretty you can wear it on its only. Ok, maybe not on it’s own but it does makes me think about all the good things that come with spring. Like blossoms. And soon it will be here (fingers crossed). 
This Enchanted Floral bra is from multi-size women’s clothing retailer Fashion Bug. It comes in sizes 40C – 44DD. Right now it costs $25 and is part of the Fashion Bug’s Buy One Get One 50% Off promotion. It has matching panties but they looks like scary bloomers.
I don’t know why but this bra makes me think of Natalie Wood in West Side Story singing, “I feel pretty”.

This Is Who I Am
“Our Beauty in All Shapes and Sizes”
Photographer, Rosanne Olson has created a lovely collection of sepia-toned nude portraits and mini essays by women from ages 19 – 95. The most important aspect of this collection is that the women are of all shapes and sizes. All have varying degrees of self esteem and body image.
Right from the first page my perceptions were tested. I would look at the image and immediately start judging. Then I would read the accompanying essay and realize how far off the mark I really was. As the book progressed I found myself judging less and enjoying our diversity more.
This is how we are all supposed to be — different. I thoroughly enjoyed looking at the photographs and getting to know the subjects. I highly recommend you add a copy to your bookshelf.

Criss Cross Sandals
Gladiator sandals were all the rave amongst celebrities last year and I was totally right along with them for the most part. This year the Glad Sand has been updated to be less extreme. I’m totally in love with these Libby Edelman “Mayes” Crisscross Woven Metallic Sandals (say that ten times real fast).
They come in classic black and silver or brown and gold. It was the brown and gold that caught my eye but now I’m really digging the black and silver. They are available at Shoes.com in sizes 6 to 11 for $69.99.

Grey Pants
I used to get so tired of wearing the black bottoms every day. Adding a pair of grey dress pants to your closet is a good way to spice up your career wear. 
These Tweed Pants from Lane Bryant are a combination of black, white, and grey which means they will virtually go with everything you already have in your closet while still breaking up the humdrum of black pants day after day.
These plus size tweed pants are so popular right now that LB only has sizes 24 through 28 left. They are a comfortable blend of polyester/linen/spandex and are machine wash. $59.50 is not a bad price to pay for dress wear.
If you are looking for something a little less fitting on the thighs and more sizes on the lower end then you might want to try these Textured Trousers, also from Lane Bryant.
These charcoal colored pants are a blend of polyester/rayon/spandex and are also machine washable. They come in sizes 14 – 22 for $59.50. The slightly flared leg all the way down adds camouflage and gives movement. I also like the buckle detail (can’t see in this photo) on the back of the waist.
Grey is a great addition to the career wardrobe. It may be a bit of an adjustment if you have always worn black but it’s worth the effort.

Cute Mirror Compact
Some times I’m all about cute. I think it’s a throwback to the days when I never got to be a girlie girl growing up. If you are looking for cute and definitely different then you should check out the loot from Shana Logic where artists sell their “one-of-a-kind and limited edition creations”. 
How incredibly cute is this compact Hamster mirror? That’s a rhetorical question. It’s incredibly cute! A conversation piece and a functional make-up accessory for only $6. The artist drew the image and affixed it to the compact.

Grey and Black 2 For Dress
I zipped over to Igigi to check out there new arrivals today and I found one! I’m totally in love with this Emelina two-in-one dress. Love, love, love it. 
What do I love you ask? The first thing I fell in love with was the detail on the draped sleeves and layered neckline; the grey and black contrast, and best of all the belt is included! Some thing I just griped about last week was not being able to find the belts and were usually shown with clothing and here they go and include it with this dress. How nice. What you can’t see in this photo is that the top has a deep cross over V in the back. Lovely.
The Emelina dress comes in sizes 12 – 32 (the smaller sizes are selling fast). It currently costs $108.
