From a distance they look like denim skinny jeans (well, except for the elastic waist) but they fit like the comfort of leggings. This particular pair is from Silouettes for $29. They have a pretty fair size range from xl to 3x. 
These cuties would look great with a pair of sheik flats but personally I would pare them with a pair of knee high boots (like the Elin wide calf boots) before it gets too hot to wear them.
Leggings are great for under tunics but don’t get caught up in the whole comfort of leggings phase that fashion seems to be going through. They are good for the occasional casual day but repetitive wearing just looks like you couldn’t be bothered to put yourself together. Use with modesty!
