The Orange Dilemma

July 6, 2011
By

Orange is one of the hottest colors for summer this year. Problem is I cannot wear it. Orange does not goes with everyone’s skin tone — I happen to be one of those people who reflect orange (and certain pinks) in my face if I am wearing it — as you can imagine not a flattering look. If you are like me and cannot handle orange as a full body look then you need to check out the Katie Dress. Igigi has opted to use orange as a accent color instead of the main color. And with power purple!

The dangling Jamie earrings ($42) the model is wearing are from Igigi but I really like the Kendra Scott Lucy Earrings ($48) with a hint of orange from Zappos. And the orange Frye Joy Huarache Sling shoes ($114) and cream Culture Phit Bree Bow Braid Hobo ($63) from Zappos finish off the look.

  • Miss Representation
The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) has been airing a documentary by Jennifer Siebel Newsom called Miss Representation. The title is an interesting play on words. If you get the chance I highly recommend watching the 90 minute documentary that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last year which... […]
  • Weight Bullying
It is not o.k. to bully someone about their weight and then try to cushion it with "I am telling you this because I care" or the multitude of other passive-aggressive comments that come from friends, family, and my personal favorite strangers who are driven by stereotypes of being fat and decades of […]
