The Twilight Craze
Yes, it’s true, plus size people (young and older) have joined in on the Twilight book and movie craze. It really is a craze isn’t it? Handmade and Beautiful
My husband gives me a hard time because I like sparkly things. It could be anything really. Water, crystal, glass, and of course jewellery. A jewelry artist emailed the other day to let me know she added a collection of plus size pieces to her website, Z Creations.
I found 10 plus size necklaces. All very pretty. But the South Seas Mother of Pearl-Aqua Starfish Necklace is probably my favorite (but guess what it’s sold!). My next choice is this lovely Scalloped Leaf Gemstone Necklace. It’s handcrafted with semi precious gemstones including Jasper, Swarovski Austrian crystals and a Murano-style Blown Glass Leaf Pendant. The necklace extends to 22″ and sells for $70.

Just So Pretty
Sometimes a gyrl just likes to look at pretty things. The best way to look at pretty things is to get them small and wearable on the hand so you can enjoy them all day. I usually wear big clunky rings or my favorite hematite rings so this pretty ring is unusual for me. 
I do like sparkly just like the next gyrl but it was pink love at first site when I saw this Nicola Eternity Band at Emitations. It comes in size 6 - 9 for $89.

Yellow Canary
I haven’t mentioned any jewelry in a while so 
I went looking at Emitations “top sellers” list to see what I could find. I like the this lovely Montbeliard Canary Ring fashioned after a ring Miriah Carey wore.
It’s a special order ring that takes a few weeks and they are currently offering sizes 4 - 9 for $95. Is the twittering calling you?

Black - The Jewelry
Black is cool and dark. I like the feeling of cool dark jewelry on my skin and anything Hematite fits the bill. I have about three different kinds of necklaces, two bracelets and five rings all made from Hematite.
Hematite is a mineral form of iron that was commonly crafted into jewelry in the Victorian age. It’s now more popular among artisans and Western society. It’s also pretty darn cheap.
I found this beautiful piece at A Greater Gift, a non-profit organization that helps poor communities support themselves by selling their goods.
I simply adore this necklace. The contrast of red and black is alluring although I think it would be too much to wear them with the earrings but each worn separately would be dynamite. The red amber is actually dyed bone that has been crafted into a bead. The hematite and bone are blended with antiqued silver and Masai glass beads. The necklace is $27 and the earrings are $8.50. If you check out A Greater Gift make sure you read about each artisan so you know who is being helped.
If you feel inclined and own the creative juices to make your own hematite piece then I recommend you do a search on ebay for they are a goldmine of hematite materials as well as ready made pieces.

White - The Jewelry
Say hello to this 14 K White Gold, White Topaz and Diamond Ring from Diamonds International. Ok, so it’s really expensive. But it sparkles. Big time! And check out the scroll detailing on the side. It comes in sizes 5-15, so yes, Virgina there is such a thing as plus size jewelry. 
It’s priced at $1,175.00. What a bargain! Ok, maybe not a bargain for the average Joe but I’m sure it’s a bargain for someone… somewhere. And wouldn’t it just drive all your friends crazy?

Brown - The Jewelry
Latisha over at Unique Wirez is creating some fashionable and affordable jewelry with her own little hands. For todays brown theme I found these Woody Pony Bracelets in her non-Wirez line. Their casual feel goes with this week’s selections nicely.
I love earthy bracelets like these, they just beg to be played with. Jewelry isn’t just about look after all. They are extremely affordable at $5 a pop so you can mix and match the different shades. I especially like the dark brown in the center.

Orange - The Jewelry
Padparadscha is a pinkish orange sapphire from exotic destinations like Sri Lanka. In it’s true form it is rare, precious and expensive. Thanks to modern jewelry technology it can be man-made.
Emitations has these darling Orange Sapphire Stud Earrings (X13-40236OR) for $24.99. I love the checkerboard cut which gives them a lovely texture and helps to capture and direct light. Because they are an unusual shade I can see them garnering lots of attention.
A little pricer and not as deep is color is this handmade bracelet designed and made by Elaine Haydon Jewelry. This Carnelian Fringe bracelet is $57. Carnelian beads are manufactured from carnelian quartz that is mined from India. This bracelet is loaded with beads to hug your delicate wrist.
Both are my faves today.
