How to Use the Convertible Dress

There’s no doubt that Monif C’s Convertible Marilyn Dress is the most versatile piece on the market. There are a few basic colors but usually new colors are introduced each season. It comes in a long or short version that can be used as a party dress, wedding dress, brides maid dresses, New Year’s dress… it is endless. Because the dress fits sizes 8 to 24 you pretty much always know you’ll have something that fits wheather you are up or down ten pounds. The dress costs $195 which seems like a lot for one dress but not for 22 — that works out to almost $9 per dress.

Rocking with Monif C

Monif C has introduced a few more designs for this season. One of my favorites is this Roxie Beaded V-Neck which will be available in October (they’re taking pre-orders). The top/dress comes in combo sizes 14/16, 18/20, 22/24. It is shown on the website in black worn bare legged but the red is definitely hot. Plus-size-Roxie-Dress

It seems like everyone is taking on the leggings in their latest fashion shoots. I have to admit they are starting to grow on me as they being paired more and more with better pieces. I do like them paired with this top. I like the shoes too (and give me some of that hair)! The dress is currently retailing for $175.

Fall Colors for Convertible Dress

I have adored the convertible dress since it was released and always look forward to seeing the new colors every season. This fall Monif C introduces the usual red and black but adds cobalt, deep purple, and olive (supposedly one of the hottest colors this fall). The convertible dress is a one size fits 8 to 24. It comes in two lengths, the one seen here for $195 and the floor length for $235. So far they have figured out over twenty styles for the convertible dress. My favorite colors? Cobalt and red.

Plus Size Asian Dress on eBay

I was on eBay looking for EZcombs (there’s lots there if you’re looking) and some how came across this beautiful Asian inspired dress in plus sizes from Shanghai, China.

This Chinese silk satin party dress has a open back with halter closure at neck and an extra long slit up the slide of the leg for the woman who likes to show off her gams.

I think this is a lovely dress and was happily surprised to see it was available in sizes 3x to 6x. Bidding started at 99 cents on this and there’s three days left to go! It comes with a reasonable shipping cost.

There’s always good deals to be found for plus size clothing on eBay even when you’re not expecting to find them.

Red Ruffle Dress

I am totally crushing on Monif C’s new red ruffle dress. Woot, woot!

Ruffles are hot and so is this color. Love it. What are the chances that it will go on sale before the wedding in June. I know, not likely.

The “Elaine” Ruffle Sleeve Frock comes in sizes 14/16 – 22/24 for $198. It also comes in white which is equally as fabulous. They are preordering for shipping June 5th.

Vixen in Red

Kiyonna always delivers one great dress for the holiday and I think this is the one for this season. The Flaunt Cocktail Dress is Vixen red comes in sizes 10 – 32 for $128. Ruching (gathered material at the waist) is so hot this year and I absolutely love it; on tops, on boots, on bags. Just not all at once!

This dress has a deep neckline that continues all the way around to a deeper plunge in the back. We tend to go for the obvious, showing off the décolletage but forgetting to show off the back. The back can be lovely all on its own; in some cases, even sexier and we can get away with showing off more of it in public settings. Don’t let the skin you show this year be all about the bosom. What’s the saying? “Keep ‘em guessing!”

$75 Convertible Dress

Do you like rose pink? Plus size designer Monif C has their rose pink convertible dress on for $75 which is a huge savings for a dress which normally sells for $195. It’s a change of season so they are clearing out old colors to make room for new ones.

Haven’t heard of the convertible dress. Well this dress, also tagged the Marilyn dress (think Seven Year Itch), is a marvel for plus size dresses. This dress is good for a club, wedding, party, or cruisewear. with over twenty different looks I’m sure you can think of more.

This is one of Monif C’s hottest products and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is what she’ll be known for for the next few years. Every season they come out with fabulous colors and a few basics. It fits sizes 8 – 24.

Monif C Holiday Collection

Halloween is over and now it’s time to start thinking about “the Holidays” and what you are going to where. One of my favorite “sexy” shops is Monif C and her 2008 Holiday Collection is out. She’s warning that product is limited.

My absolute favorites, as always, is the Marilyn Convertible dress. This season the colors are black, red, olive green and dusty purple. They’ve been playing with how to wear this dress for over a year now and the options are well over fifteen. I’ve never had a piece of clothing with so many possibilities. Red is always a hot color for the holidays but I’m kind of crushing on this olive green, especially since so many things can be done with it (click on link below for just one alternate view).

The other dress I’m crushing on this season is the Olivia Sequin Party Dress. It’s blue and it’s sparklely. Two things I love. Both dresses come in sizes 14 – 24. And both pieces are definitely wearable past the holidays.

Monif C Spring Release

I received an email this morning about plus size designer Monif C’s new collection. Here are my favorites:

This “Sunner” Colorblock Maxi Dress – Blue Multi is full of stunning colors. It is made of luxurious rayon jersey and available in sizes 14-24 for $235.

Next up is “Diva” Red Silk Chiffon Dress with Crystal Brooch. It’s 100% silk and comes in sizes 14 – 24. It is tagged with a designer price of $380.

And lastly, the “Jilly” Neo-Print Silk Jersey Dress. I just think it needs a big black belt to help break up the pattern. It is made of silk jersey and also comes in sizes 14 – 24. It’s tagged for $318.
