The Corset Top

A growing trend in plus size club wear is wearing a pretty corset as a top. In most cases I find that corsets and bustiers are meant for shaping and should be kept for the underthings they were meant to be.

But occasionally I come across a corset that I can totally understand why some one would wear it as a top; at a club or otherwise. Plus Size Plum has a lovely corset top called Corset Vest with Casablanca Stripes. It comes in the Ivory shown at right as well as a soft pink. I think the pink looks too underweary to wear as a top but the ivory has definite halter top potential.

This $69 plus size corset comes in sizes 40, 42, and 44, with adjustable/removable garters and g-string. Doesn’t it look great with jeans and matching pumps!?

The Duchess Corset

Plus size lingerie provider, Hips and Curves has added a steel boned corset to their line of fashionable corsets and bustiers.

The difference is that this is an authentic waist reducing corset for experienced or new corset wearers wishing to reduce their waist by 2 – 3 inches. I personally wouldn’t recommend this for every day wear but if you are looking for something a little sturdier than your average ‘pretty’ corset then you may want to check this one out.

This authentic steel boned corset is currently available in size 32 – 40 (and that isn’t your bust – read website for complete instructions as it is measured differently than fashion corsets) for $149.95. A different look for the club or for a special night, oh say Valentine’s, under your regular clothes or on it’s own. The ruffles, neckline and bow draw the viewer in before the eyes get to the satin and boning. Unless you’re looking from the back… ooh la la.

Celebrating Valentine’s Day with Lane Bryant

Lane Bryant has an incredibly beautiful collection of lingerie in their Valentine’s Day collection. I can’t believe how impressed I am. It is a small but detailed collection with only eighteen pieces which left me wanting more.

Here are my top three favorites:

Right at the top of my list is this Embroidered Diamond Lace-up Corset. It comes in sizes 14/16 – 26/28 for $48. The matching full panty is $16. That plunge line is marvellous.

Next comes this Chandelier Embroidered Babydoll with matching g-string. It is available in sizes 14/16 – 26/28 for $42.50.

And last but not least, this Heart-to-Heart Mesh Cami and matching boy short. The cami is $26 and and the shorts are $16. They come in sizes 14/16 – 26/28.

Red Valentine Lingerie

I couldn’t possibly avoid red lingerie all together this week. My absolute favorite sexy Valentine’s lingerie comes from Hips and Curves, I’m sure there is no surprise there.

The Pebble Charmeuse Corset comes in red, black or purple for $59.95. It is available in sizes 38 – 44. The rushing texture is what makes it for me. This piece comes with removable garters and a matching g-string. I think the corset would work nicely under a low cut black blazer.

Two In One Corset

As I mentioned on Promo Friday, Always for Me has a corset promotion on ($10 off the purchase of any one regular price corset). I hightailed it over there today to see what I could find. It took a few minutes but I found the plus size corset designs under the style section of lingerie.
